Wicked Agility

Enabling agility in an organization isn’t a simple checklist or one-off process. It’s what’s known as a wicked problem — a social or cultural problem that's difficult or impossible to solve, normally because of its complex and interconnected nature.

The Wicked Agility technique offers wicked big solutions to wicked big problems when creating a sustainable culture-change environment or a sustainable product.

The Wicked Agility approach creates ripples of cultural change for an organization. Unlike other change models, it focuses less on the checklist approach and more on building momentum on the change that already exists. How do we navigate a world that we’re trying to change? And how do we effectively weigh the inevitable trade-off decisions that will arise from solving a wicked problem?

Wicked Agility provides an effective rolodex of culture change solutions based on Agile practices, DEIA, and organizational reframing. We follow a respectful, people-centric philosophy for exploring options for change in situations where there are no easy answers. We look forward to working with you to find a tailored process to create impactful change and lasting solutions in your organization.

There are two foundational principles for Wicked Agility:

  1. Healthy ecosystem. The desired outcome for Wicked Agility as an approach is to create a win-win solution for all stakeholders. This approach is designed to collaborative and equitable; it assumes that all parties are invested in the sustainability of the system.

  2. Balancing polarities. In any context applicable for Wicked Agility, there is rarely a perfect solution with no negative effect. In reality, most plausible solutions will have negative impacts on some people or some part of the system. Minimizing the side-effects and seeking to ensure that every stakeholder benefits in some way is the essence of Wicked Agility.
