Cognitive Leadership

Do you know what happens when you assume things? We won’t finish the joke that goes along with that, but we will tell you that many of us make assumptions about how other people view us and how we interact with the world around us. And sometimes, those assumptions are true; sometimes they aren’t. When we really understand how our interactions with others are perceived and received, then we can be better teammates, better leaders, and better humans.

Cognitive Leadership provides a framework to illuminate the gap between the intent a leader has and the impact they have on the people and environment around them. We shift the focus from leaders themselves (their values, their personalities, their purpose) to the impact they create, especially on the people they’re responsible for leading and on the organizations they lead.

We create space for leaders and aspiring leaders to explore the invisible—how and what you see, observe, think, and interpret—through the lens of the visible—your behaviors, actions, and their impact on others. Through this process, leaders can discover deep insights and learn how to navigate the gap between intention and impact. By making explicit changes in their behavior, they are able to better cultivate an environment where they and their teams can succeed.
